• CORPS LIFTS SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY FOR ARKANSAS RIVER

    LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The Army Corps of Engineers has lifted the small craft advisory for the Arkansas River. Advisories are issued when flows reach 70,000 cubic feet per second. Even though flows have receded below that threshold, Corps officials urge boaters to always use caution when on the river.

    LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - The Army Corps of Engineers issues a small craft advisory for the Arkansas River beginning at Murray Lock and Dam and continuing downstream. Recent rains in Arkansas and Oklahoma have caused flows to rise. During high flows, strong currents and large debris can threaten the safety of pleasure craft.

  • CORPS PLANS PRESCRIBED BURNS

    PIEDMONT, Mo. – When conditions are right this spring, personnel from the Army Corps of Engineers Clearwater Lake Project Office will conduct prescribed burns on public land surrounding Clearwater Lake. The target location for the next burn is Corps owned property in the Black River Watchable Wildlife Area, south of Highway HH near the project office and is set for April 3 if conditions are favorable. Keep in mind these burns could occur after this date should conditions not be favorable on the target date.

    MKARNS - Mariners are advised that, until further notice, no passing should occur when transiting the Montgomery Point Lock and Dam navigation pass. Both upbound and downbound tows should favor the lock wall side of the navigation pass, staying 75 feet away from the lock wall poles.
