    MKARNS Nav Notice SWL 19-86 (Update to SWL 19-81) Pool 10 - Temporary Change in Water Elevations

    MKARNS - Mariners are advised that the pool 10 water target elevation is being changed to 338.0, as measured at Dardanelle Lock & Dam (No. 10). This change will underway now and will be in effect until noon on Monday, October 28. This change is needed by Arkansas Nuclear One to address issues with their scheduled maintenance actions currently underway.

    MKARNS - At Dardanelle Lock (No. 10), mariners are advised that all down-bound tows must stop and orient themselves in a straight position prior to lockage and avoid contact with the lock walls in the vicinity of the new stoplog slot cuts.

    TEMPORARY FULL ROAD CLOSURE OF HIGHWAY 177 BRIDGE ACROSS NORFORK DAM

    MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. – The Corps of Engineers has scheduled a full road closure from Nov.12 until Nov.15 for Hwy 177 across Norfork Dam, to install equipment used to perform maintenance on the dam’s sluice gates.

    CORPS LIFTS SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY FOR ARKANSAS RIVER

    LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The Army Corps of Engineers has lifted the small craft advisory for the Arkansas River. Advisories are issued when flows reach 70,000 cubic feet per second. Even though flows have receded below that threshold, Corps officials urge boaters to always use caution when on the river.

    Corps issues small craft advisory for Arkansas River

    LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - The Army Corps of Engineers issued a small craft advisory for the Arkansas River downstream of Van Buren, Arkansas. Overnight rainfall in Oklahoma and western Arkansas have caused flows to rise. Small craft advisories are issued when flows exceed 70,000 cubic feet per second. During high flows, strong currents and large debris can threaten the safety of pleasure craft.
