  • Corps issues small craft advisory for Arkansas River

    LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - The Army Corps of Engineers issues a small craft advisory for the Arkansas River. Recent rains across the region have caused flows to rise. During high flows, strong currents and large debris can threaten the safety of pleasure craft. Small craft advisories are issued when flows exceed 70,000 cubic feet per second.

    MKARNS - Tow haulage equipment at Murray Lock (No. 7) NM 125.4 has been returned to service.
  • Corps plans prescribed burns

    Personnel from the Army Corps of Engineers Mountain Home Project Office and the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission will conduct prescribed burns on public land surrounding Bull Shoals and Norfork lakes until the second week of April.

    ROGERS, Ark. - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Little Rock District has scheduled spillway releases from Beaver Dam near Rogers, Arkansas to begin on Dec. 26, 2019.
  • MKARNS Nav Notice SWL 19-89 NM 222 - Tow Width and Length Restrictions Lifted

    MKARNS - NM 222 - Mariners are advised that dredging has been completed at NM 222, and the width and length tow restrictions listed in Navigation Notice SWL 19-87 are no longer in effect. No passing is still advised when transiting NM 221 – NM 223, and mariners should continue running the center line between the buoys in their current positions. Mariners are also reminded to use caution in this area.

    ASHDOWN, Ark. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Millwood Tri-Lakes Project Office is extending the closure of the Okay Landing Recreation Area while repairs to Okay Levee are being made.
  • Millwood Lake Master Plan revisions require temporary halt to shoreline management requests

    ASHDOWN, Ark. -- The Army Corps of Engineers’ Millwood Lake Project Office will suspend shoreline activity requests beginning Jan. 1, 2020 to establish a baseline of the lake for officials to use while revising its 45-year-old master plan and 7-year-old shoreline management plan.
