    Beaver Lake Dam to begin releases from conduit

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Beaver Lake Project Office will open the conduit at Beaver Dam from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. beginning May 14 to evacuate flood storage and support downstream fisheries.

    Curtis named chief of Programs and Project Management for USACE Little Rock District

    Dr. Darrin Curtis was recently named deputy for Programs and Project Management and chief of the Programs and Project Management Division for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Little Rock District. Curtis replaces Craig Pierce, who retired from federal service.

    Table Rock Dam spillway gates to open intermittently for routine inspections

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Table Rock Project Office will intermittently open spillway gates at Table Rock Dam May 12-13 to allow work boats access to the dam for routine underwater inspections.

    Single lane closure scheduled for Highway 63/79 bridge over Sanders Lock and Dam

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will be closing one lane of the Highway 63/79 bridge across Sanders Lock and Dam, from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. May 21 for a routine bridge inspection.

    Partial lane closure underway on County Road 96 bridge in Tichnor

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Little Rock District has implemented a partial lane closure on the County Road 96 bridge in Tichnor, Arkansas which crosses Lock 2 on the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System.

    USACE opens public comment period for draft Lake Dardanelle Shoreline Management Plan on Monday, May 4

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Russellville Site Office is seeking public input on the draft Lake Dardanelle Shoreline Management Plan and associated Environmental Assessment. Public comment for the draft SMP and EA will be held between May 4 and June 3, 2026.

    MKARNS Nav Notice SWL 26-17 Scheduled Lock Closure (Multiple Locations)

    A partial lock closure is scheduled for James A. Trimble Lock (No.13) NM 292.8, Ozark Jetta-Tayor Lock (No. 12) NM 256.9, Dardanelle Lock (No. 10) NM 205.5, Arthur V. Ormond Lock (No. 9) NM 176.9, Toad Suck Lock (No. 8) NM 155.9, and Murray Lock (No. 7) NM 125.4 beginning June 15th, 2026, through September 30th, 2026. During this time, the Locks will be closed daily between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. The Locks will be opened to traffic each night between the hours of 7:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m., however a 70-ft width restriction will be in place.

    MKARNS Nav Notice SWL 26-16 Caution Advisory NM 291.6 I-49 Bridge

    Mariners are advised that bridge construction falsework is located in the river at NM 291.6, downstream of James W. Trimble Lock and Dam (No. 13). These obstructions will be in place intermittently during the I-49 Bridge construction and may be submerged depending on river conditions.

    USACE issues small craft advisory for Arkansas River

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is issuing a small craft advisory for the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System in Arkansas. Heavy rainfall in eastern Oklahoma last week has resulted in Arkansas River flows exceeding 70,000 cubic feet per second at Trimble Lock and Dam.
