  • USACE to conduct boundary line maintenance on Bull Shoals and Norfork Lakes

    MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is advising landowners adjacent to public lands around Bull Shoals and Norfork Lakes that contract maintenance crews will be conducting boundary line maintenance along a 170-mile section of government boundary at Bull Shoals Lake and a 90-mile section at Norfork Lake.

  • MKARNS Nav Notice No. SWL 23-12 Lock 6 Tow Haulage Out of Service

    The tow haulage equipment at David D. Terry Lock (No. 6) NM 108.1 is currently out of service. Double cut tows will have to be locked the conventional way (without the use of tow haulage). Another notice will be distributed when the tow haulage equipment is back in service.
  • NAVNOT 23-11 TOW HAULAGE OUT OF SERVICE NORRELL LOCK (No. 1) NM 10.3 MCCLELLAN-KERR ARKANSAS RIVER NAVIGATION SYSTEM

    During scheduled maintenance to the tow haulage equipment at Norrell Lock (No. 1) NM 10.3, referenced in Navigation Notice SWL 23-08, crews discovered additional components in need of critical repairs. Due to these findings, the tow haulage equipment at Norrell Lock (No. 1) NM 10.3 will remain out of service until repairs can be made.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is revising the master plans and associated environmental assessments for Nimrod Lake and Blue Mountain Lake.
  • One lane of Highway 32 across Millwood Dam to temporarily close

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will be closing one lane of the Highway 32 bridge across Millwood Dam from 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. on March 16 for a routine dam inspection.
  • NAVIGATION NOTICE NO. 1-2023 McCLELLAN-KERR ARKANSAS RIVER NAVIGATION SYSTEMS (MKARNS) LITTLE ROCK AND TULSA DISTRICT

    INTRODUCTION: February 2023 1. As a result of partnering efforts with navigation stakeholders, a consolidated Notice to Navigation Interests has been prepared for the McClellan- Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System (MKARNS). The intent is to provide consistency by reviewing and informing current district regulations with a joint notice that will be updated annually. The notice is applicable to the Little Rock (SWL) and Tulsa (SWT) Districts. 2. The basic document includes policies of general application to the described areas within the Southwestern Division, while the appendices cite policies applicable to MKARNS projects from Navigation Mile (NM) 0 to NM 445. Also included as appendices as an appendix is the Code of Federal Regulations containing the "Little Red Book" of navigation regulations prescribed by the Secretary of the Army. 3.     RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is advising landowners adjacent to public lands around Lake Dardanelle and Ozark Lake that contract maintenance crews will be conducting boundary line maintenance along a 34-mile section of government boundary at Lake Dardanelle and a 22- mile section at Ozark Lake.
  • NAVNOT 23-10 NORRELL LOCK (No. 1) NM 10.3 LOCK OPENED MCCLELLAN-KERR ARKANSAS RIVER NAVIGATION SYSTEM

    Testing of the new closure system at Norrell Lock (No. 1) NM 10.3 has concluded with favorable results. The Lock is fully opened to navigation traffic and no further delays or closures associated with the construction of the new closure system are expected.
  • NAVNOT 23-09 NORRELL LOCK (No. 1) NM 10.3 CLOSURE UPDATE MCCLELLAN-KERR ARKANSAS RIVER NAVIGATION SYSTEM

    Norrell Lock (No. 1) NM 10.3 opened Saturday, February 25 and will remain open until 6:59 a.m. on March 7. The Lock will be closed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on March 7 and March 8 to conduct testing of the new closure system.
