    USACE issues small craft advisory for Arkansas River

    LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is issuing a small craft advisory for the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System in Arkansas. Recent heavy rainfall in Western Arkansas will cause Arkansas River flows to exceed 70,000 cubic feet per second systemwide over the next few days.

    U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announces temporary shoreline activity request moratorium at Lake Dardanelle

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Russellville Site Office will suspend shoreline activity requests beginning February 1 to establish a baseline for officials to use while updating the lake’s 12-year-old shoreline management plan.

    Complete your gift giving by donating your discarded Christmas tree for fish cover at Beaver Lake, Bull Shoals Lake or Norfork Lake. To donate, take your old Christmas tree to the following locations: Beaver Lake: Highway 12 launch ramp, Monte Ne launch ramp, Don Roufa launch ramp. For Bull Shoals Lake and Norfork Lake, trees can be dropped off at any public launch ramp.

    MKARNS Nav Notice No. SWL 24-93 NavPass Open

    Due to increased river elevations, the crest gate dam at Montgomery Point Lock and Dam (NM 0.5) is lowered and the navigation pass is open. When the Montgomery Point Lock and Dam tailwater elevation drops below 115 ft., the navigation pass will be closed.

    MKARNS Nav Notice No. SWL 24-92 MPLD NavPass Closed

    Due to falling river elevations, the crest gate dam at Montgomery Point Lock and Dam (NM 0.5) is in operation and the navigation pass is closed. All vessels are required to pass through the lock until further notice.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is notifying residents near Camp Robinson of upcoming unexploded ordnance investigations and remediation efforts. These activities, scheduled to begin in January 2025 and continue through February 2025, are part of routine work under the Formerly Used Defense Site (FUDS) program.
