The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Little Rock District is seeking public comment on the draft environmental assessment and finding of no significant impact for the replacement of the spillway bridge at Blue Mountain Lake in Yell County, Arkansas.

The 15-day public comment period begins Feb. 11 and ends Feb. 25. The draft documents and instructions for submitting comments are available at https://www.swl.usace.army.mil/Missions/Recreation/Lakes/Blue-Mountain-Lake/.

The proposed project would replace the existing bridge superstructure and deck due to age and restricted load capacity. The new bridge would meet current design standards and allow heavier vehicles to cross, improving safety and maintenance operations during spillway flow by ensuring access for personnel and equipment to the dam, field office and recreational facilities.

Public comment periods provide opportunities for the public to offer feedback on USACE projects and land management activities. They are part of the district's commitment to transparency and accountability.

Recreation and project information is available at www.swl.usace.army.mil, on Facebook at www.facebook.com/littlerockusace, and through the USACE Little Rock water level mobile app at www.swl.usace.army.mil/Home/water-control-app/
