    The tow haulage equipment at Murray Lock (No. 7) NM 125.4 will be taken out of service on December 2, 2024 to facilitate work on the new tow haulage system.

    MKARNS Nav Notice No. SWL 24- 83 Lock 3 Closure

    Mariners are advised that Joe Hardin Lock (No. 3) NM 50.2 will be closed to traffic beginning at 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. on November 13, 2024. The lock closure is required to facilitate ongoing work on the hydraulic system.

    USACE issues small craft advisory for Arkansas River

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is issuing a small craft advisory for the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System in Arkansas. Heavy rainfall in Eastern Oklahoma and Western Arkansas over the last 48 hours is causing Arkansas River flows to exceed 70,000 cubic feet per second systemwide.

    MKARNS Nav Notice No. SWL 24- 82 Sailing Instruction Lifted NM 256.1 to NM 256.4

    Crews have completed digging and clamming operations from NM 256.1 to NM 256.4 and in the downstream approach at Ozark Lock (No. 12) NM 256.8. The sailing instructions, as stated in Navigation Notice No. SWL 23-36, have been lifted.

    MKARNS Nav Notice No. SWL 24- 81 USCG Advisory Van Buren Railroad Bridge

    Due to falling river elevations, the crest gate dam at Montgomery Point Lock and Dam (NM 0.5) is in operation and the navigation pass is closed.  All vessels are required to pass through the lock until further notice.
