ASHDOWN, Ark. -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will implement a full road closure for Highway 32 across Millwood Dam beginning at 7 p.m. Jan. 30 for unplanned but necessary inspection gallery maintenance.
USACE officials regret any inconvenience this may cause, particularly given recent winter weather impacts on area roadways. The closure has been coordinated with local emergency and law enforcement agencies.
Maintenance crews will be conducting pumping operations in the dam's inspection gallery. The work requires access from the roadway across the top of the dam. The duration of the closure is uncertain as ongoing winter weather conditions can impact operations. More information will be provided as it becomes available.
Travelers should plan alternate routes and check current road conditions with the Arkansas Department of Transportation. Given the rural nature of Highway 32 and extended distances to alternate routes, motorists are encouraged to plan accordingly.
