    MKARNS Nav Notice SWL 14-22 Ferry Traffic Between NM 2.4 and NM 2.6

    MKARNS - Mariners are advised to use caution while transiting NM 2.4 through NM 2.6. Ferry traffic is scheduled to begin the week of July 28 and continue through December. The hours of operation will be 6 a.m. until 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Ferry landings will be located at NM 2.4 (right bank) and NM 2.6 (left bank).

    CORPS REOPENS SHOAL BAY SWIM BEACH ON LAKE DARDANELLE

    The Corps of Engineers, Russellville Project Office reopened Shoal Bay swim beach on Lake Dardanelle. The beach was temporarily closed last month because of higher than acceptable E. coli levels that were found during routine testing conducted by the Arkansas Department of Health. Officials have retested the swim beach and determined that it is safe for public use.

    Little Rock - To ensure the safety of life and property during the Pops on the River fireworks display in Little Rock, AR, a safety zone will be established by the Coast Guard for the Arkansas River from mile marker 118.8 to mile marker 119.5. The safety zone will be in effect from 9:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. on July 4, 2014.

    LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The Army Corps of Engineers has lifted the small craft advisory for the Arkansas River. Advisories are issued when flows reach 70,000 cubic feet per second. Even though flows have receded below that threshold, Corps officials urge boaters to always use caution when on the river.
