    CHRISTMAS TREE FISH COVER PROGRAM ANNOUNCED

    MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. -- What do you do with the Christmas tree when the holiday is over? Complete your gift giving by donating your discarded tree for fish cover on Bull Shoals or Norfork lakes. Many local anglers sink these discarded Christmas trees to provide an improved fish habitat.

    U.S. Army Corps of Engineers seeks public comment on Proposed Rule for Use of USACE Reservoir Projects for Domestic, Municipal and Industrial Water Supply

    Washington (December 16, 2016) - The Department of the Army, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), today released and is seeking comment on a proposed rule to update and clarify its policies governing the use of USACE reservoir projects for domestic, municipal and industrial water supply pursuant to Section 6 of the Flood Control Act of 1944, 33 U.S.C. § 708 (Section 6), and the Water Supply Act of 1958, 43 U.S.C. § 390b (WSA).

    ONE LANE OF HIGHWAY 25 ACROSS GREERS FERRY DAM TO TEMPORARILY CLOSE

    HEBER SPRINGS, Ark. – One lane of Highway 25 across Greers Ferry Dam will close temporarily beginning at 8 a.m. Dec. 19 through Dec. 23 for the start of maintenance on the dam’s tainter gates. Work will continues Jan. 2, 2017, and through November 2017.

    CORPS CONTINUES ONE LANE CLOSURE OF HIGHWAY 177 ACROSS NORFORK DAM FOR MAINTENANCE

    MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. – One lane of Highway 177 across Norfork Lake will remain closed through Feb. 28, 2017 to conduct maintenance on the dam’s two power plant penstock gates.

    HIGHWAY 178 BRIDGE ACROSS BULL SHOALS DAM TO TEMPORARILY CLOSE

    MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. – The Corps of Engineers will close both lanes of Highway 178 across Bull Shoals Dam from 7 a.m. Dec. 19 until 7 p.m. Dec. 20, weather permitting, to install equipment needed to refurbish the tainter gates on Bull Shoals Dam.

    The Army Corps of Engineers Dewey Short Visitor Center at Table Rock Lake is offering several park ranger led programs until the middle of December. All programs are free, open to the public and registration is not required. Unless otherwise noted, programs begin at Dewey Short Visitor Center.
