    Statement Regarding the Dakota Access Pipeline

    Washington, D.C. – Today, the Army informed the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe, Energy Transfer Partners, and Dakota Access, LLC, that it has completed the review that it launched on September 9, 2016. The Army has determined that additional discussion and analysis are warranted in light of the history of the Great Sioux Nation’s dispossessions of lands, the importance of Lake Oahe to the Tribe, our government-to-government relationship, and the statute governing easements through government property.

    CORPS SEEKS PUBLIC’S HELP TO PROTECT ARTIFACTS ON PUBLIC LANDS

    LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- Army Corps of Engineers officials are reminding everyone it is against the law to remove artifacts from public lands. During low lake levels, Corps rangers have noted increased incidents of people digging for artifacts, also known as archaeological resources, along the shoreline and in upland areas. This act is illegal and can be punished by severe fines and/or jail time.

    BRANSON, Mo. -- The Army Corps of Engineers Dewey Short Visitor Center at Table Rock Lake is offering several park ranger led programs through the end of November. All programs are free, open to the public. Unless otherwise noted, programs begin at Dewey Short Visitor Center.

    MKARNS NAV NOTICE 16-57 U.S. COAST GUARD ADVISORY CONCRETE DEMOLITION CHANNEL CLOSURE NM 118.6 TO 119.6 MCCLELLAN-KERR ARKANSAS RIVER NAVIGATION SYSTEM

    The concrete footings of the Broadway Bridge in Little Rock are scheduled to be demolished at 9 a.m. on Oct. 30. The main navigation channel is scheduled to be closed from 8:30 a.m. – 10 a.m. The safety zone previously established by the U.S. Coast Guard remains in effect from NM 118.6 to NM 119.6.

    MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. -- The Army Corps of Engineers is taking applications from youth hunters who would like to participate in a special muzzleloader deer hunt Dec. 10 and 11 in Ozark Isle Park/Dry Run Area on Bull Shoals Lake. Eight permits will be issued to hunter education graduates, 15 years old and under.
