    CORPS LIFTS SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY FOR ARKANSAS RIVER

    The Army Corps of Engineers has lifted the small craft advisory for the Arkansas River. Advisories are issued when flows reach 70,000 cubic feet per second. Even though flows have receded below that threshold, Corps officials urge boaters to always use caution when on the river.

    Corps issues small craft advisory for Arkansas River

    LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - The Army Corps of Engineers issued a small craft advisory for the Arkansas River. High flows are the result of relatively large releases from Oklahoma reservoirs and about six inches of rain in the Oklahoma basin. During high flows, strong currents and large debris can threaten the safety of pleasure craft.

    CORPS TO CELEBRATE BEAVER LAKE’S 50th ANNIVERSARY

    ROGERS, Ark. – Officials at the Army Corps of Engineers Beaver Project Office are hosting a 50th anniversary celebration at Beaver Lake, 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6. The celebration will be held at Dam Site Park at the north side of Beaver Dam and immediately adjacent to State Highway 187.

    BRANSON, Mo. - The Army Corps of Engineers, Dewey Short Visitor Center at Table Rock Lake is offering several park ranger led programs through the end of October. All programs are free, open to the public, and registration is only required for the “Night at the Museum” program on Oct. 21. Unless otherwise noted, programs begin at Dewey Short Visitor Center.
