    MKARNS - The Emmett Sanders Lock (NM 66.0), the Toad Suck Ferry Lock (NM 155.9) and the Arthur V. Ormond Lock (NM 176.9) have reopened to Navigation traffic.
  • MKARNS NAV NOTICE SWL 15-17 LIFTING OF U.S. COAST GUARD SAFETY ZONE NM 119.5 TO 118.0

    MKARNS - Mariners are advised that the U.S. Coast Guard has lifted the safety zone on the Arkansas River between Navigation Miles 119.5 and 118.0. The sunken equipment has been located outside of the channel. A Broadcast Notice to Mariners has been issued to inform vessels of the equipment’s location. Vessels may contact the Coast Guard Sector Lower Mississippi River on VHF-FM Channel 16 for further information.
  • MKARNS NAV NOTICE SWL 15-16 U.S. COAST GUARD SAFETY ZONE NM 119.5 TO 118.0

    MKARNS - Mariners are advised that the U.S. Coast Guard has established a safety zone on the Arkansas River between Navigation Miles 119.5 and 118.0. This zone is between Murray Lock (No. 7) and David D. Terry Lock (No. 6). No vessels may enter or remain within this safety zone unless specifically authorized by the Captain of the Port. Vessels may contact the Coast Guard Sector Lower Mississippi River on VHF-FM Channel 16 for further information.

    Emmett Sanders L&D - Due to high flows on the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System, the Emmett Sanders Lock (NM 66.0) is closed to traffic.
  • MKARNS Nav Notice SWL 15-14 Lock 13 Reopened

    TRIMBLE L&D - The James W. Trimble Lock (NM 292.8) has reopened to Navigation traffic as of 9:50 a.m. today. The lock was closed due to high flows on the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System. The flows have now dropped to safe levels to operate the lock.

    LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - The Army Corps of Engineers reminds boaters about the recently issued small craft advisory for the Arkansas River. Recent heavy rains caused flows to rise. During high flows, strong currents and large debris can threaten the safety of pleasure craft.

    MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. – One lane of Highway 178 across Bull Shoals Dam will be closed for repairs from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on May 12, 13 and 14.
