U.S. COAST GUARD SAFETY ZONE

NM 119.5 TO 118.0

Mariners are advised that the U.S. Coast Guard has established a safety zone on the
Arkansas River between Navigation Miles 119.5 and 118.0. This zone is between
Murray Lock (No. 7) and David D. Terry Lock (No. 6). No vessels may enter or
remain within this safety zone unless specifically authorized by the Captain of the
Port. Vessels may contact the Coast Guard Sector Lower Mississippi River on
VHF-FM Channel 16 for further information.

The zone has been established due to a drill shaft template for the Broadway Street
bridge project that is missing and presumed sunk. The equipment is 117 feet long,
15 feet wide, weighs 60,000 pounds and is equipped with spuds. The owner is
making efforts to precisely locate the equipment. Water flows in this area
currently exceed 190,000 cubic feet per second.

Questions or requests for additional information concerning this notice should be
directed to James McKinnie in the Little Rock District Office, at (501) 324-5096 or
