    MKARNS - The sand build-up in the James W. Trimble Lock chamber (No. 13) NM 292.8 has been removed and the width restriction has been lifted.

    CORPS LIFTS SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY FOR ARKANSAS RIVER

    LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The Army Corps of Engineers has lifted the small craft advisory for the Arkansas River. Advisories are issued when flows reach 70,000 cubic feet per second. Even though flows have receded below that threshold, Corps officials urge boaters to always use caution when on the river.

    ONE LANE OF HIGHWAY 178 BRIDGE ACROSS BULL SHOALS DAM TO TEMPORARILY CLOSE

    MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. – The Corps of Engineers will close one lane of Highway 178 across Bull Shoals Dam from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Aug. 28, to perform a routine inspection on the dam.

    MKARNS - Until further notice, tows locking through James W. Trimble Lock (No 13) NM 292.8 are restricted to 70-foot width, and will need to enter and exit along the river wall.

    MKARNS Nav Notice SWL 19-62 Update - Shoaling Between NM 221.7 AND 222.5

    MKARNS - Mariners are advised that a temporary, limited-width channel has been marked with buoys in this area. Mariners are advised to limit tows through this temporary channel to no more than 70 feet wide (the width of 2 standard barges) and 3 standard barges long, and no passing is advised.

    CORPS SEEKS VOLUNTEERS FOR CLEANUP AT GILLHAM LAKE

    GILLHAM, Ark. – Gilliam Lake will host a shoreline cleanup as part of the Great Arkansas Cleanup, on September 14, 2019 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The cleanup will be held in cooperation with Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, Arkansas State Parks, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Fish and Wildlife, and many other government and local agencies.

    HEBER SPRINGS, Ark. – The Army Corps of Engineers is hosting Greers Ferry Lake Shoreline Management Plan scoping workshops Aug. 21-22 to share information about the update process and to collect public comments concerning shoreline activity around the lake.

    MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. – At 10 a.m. on Aug. 16 the Army Corps of Engineers, Mountain Home Project Office will open Cranfield Park on Norfork Lake. The park has been closed since early May because of high water.
