    MKARNS Nav Notice SWL 18-43 Lock Closure - Joe Hardin Lock (No. 3) NM 50.2

    MKARNS - Joe Hardin Lock (No. 3) NM 50.2 is closed to navigation traffic due to a problem with the upstream miter gates. Maintenance personnel will be on site Saturday, August 25 to begin repairs. The length of this closure is currently unknown.

    CORPS LIFTS SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY FOR ARKANSAS RIVER

    LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The Army Corps of Engineers has lifted the small craft advisory for the Arkansas River. Advisories are issued when flows reach 70,000 cubic feet per second. Even though flows have receded below that threshold, Corps officials urge boaters to always use caution when on the river.

    CORPS CLOSES WAVELAND SWIM BEACH ON BLUE MOUNTAIN LAKE UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

    HAVANA, Ark. – The Corps of Engineers, Nimrod-Blue Mountain Project Office has closed Waveland swim beach on Blue Mountain Lake until further notice. The temporary closure is the result of higher than acceptable E. coli levels that were found during routine testing conducted by the Arkansas Department of Health.

    CORPS CLOSES SWIM BEACHES ON DIERKS, DEQUEEN, GILLIAM LAKES UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

    ASHDOWN, Ark. – The Corps of Engineers, Millwood Project Office has closed Blue Ridge and Jefferson Ridge Park West Swim Beach on Dierks Lake, Coon Creek Swim Beach on Gilliam Lake and Storey Creek Swim Beach on DeQueen Lake until further notice. The temporary closure is the result of higher than acceptable E. coli levels that were found during routine testing conducted by the Arkansas Department of Health.

    Corps issues small craft advisory for Arkansas River

    LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - The Army Corps of Engineers has issued a small craft advisory for the Arkansas River. Recent heavy rains caused flows to rise. During high flows, strong currents and large debris can threaten the safety of pleasure craft. Small craft advisories are issued when flows exceed 70,000 cubic feet per second.
