MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. -- The Army Corps of Engineers, Little Rock District will hold three open houses Aug. 21-23 to release the final revised Bull Shoals Lake Shoreline Management Plan. All interested persons are invited.
The drop-in style workshops will be held at the following locations: Aug. 21 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p. m., Lutie School cafeteria and gym, 5802 U.S. Highway 160, Theodosia, Missouri; Aug. 22 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., Forsyth Public School cafeteria, 178 Panther Road, Forsyth, Missouri; Aug. 23 from 5:30 p.m. until 7 p.m., Arkansas State University Sheid Center, 190 West Wade Avenue, Mountain Home, Arkansas.
Representatives from the Corps will be available to answer questions and maps will be shown to provide an overview of the revision. This will be the final public outreach engagement for the Bull Shoals Lake SMP revision process.
The Corps announced a temporary halt to new shoreline use requests in April 2016 to facilitate the SMP revision process which will remain in effect until Oct. 1.
The SMP for Bull Shoals Lake establishes policy and furnishes guidelines for the protection and preservation of the desirable environmental characteristics of the shoreline while maintaining a balance between public and private shoreline use.
