• CORPS SEEKS COMMENTS ON DRAFT BULL SHOALS LAKE SHORELINE MANAGEMENT PLAN UPDATE

    MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. – The Army Corps of Engineers is hosting Bull Shoals Lake Shoreline Management Plan update workshops Feb. 26 through March 1 to share the draft shoreline management plan and collect public comments.
  • Corps Schedules Tecumseh Park Public Workshop

    MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. – The Corps of Engineers’ Mountain Home Project Office will hold a public workshop to present repair plans for Tecumseh Park from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Feb. 13 at the Ozark County Senior Center, 516 County Road 800, Gainesville, Mo.
  • CORPS SCHEDULES TREE REMOVAL FOR DIKE 2 ON BEAVER LAKE

    ROGERS, Ark. – As part of the Army Corps of Engineers dam safety requirements, tree removal between the base of the Dike 2 and the water’s edge on Beaver Lake will begin Feb. 8. William’s Tree Service of Rogers, Ark., will perform the work under contract with the Corps. The clearing is expected to be complete in about eight weeks, weather permitting. The removed trees will be ground and used for mulch for hiking trails.
  • CORPS PLANS PRESCRIBED BURNS

    MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. – Personnel of the Army Corps of Engineers Mountain Home Project Office and the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission will conduct prescribed burns on public land surrounding Bull Shoals and Norfork lakes when weather conditions are favorable, until the second week of April.
  • Corps’ Dewey Short Visitor Center Announces Spring Hours of Operation

    BRANSON, Mo. -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Dewey Short Visitor Center at Table Rock Lake is open Tuesday – Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. during February. A self-guided children’s activity area is available when the visitor center is open.

  • ONE LANE OF HIGHWAY 177 BRIDGE ACROSS NORFORK DAM REMAINS TEMPORARILY CLOSED

    MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. – The Corps of Engineers will keep one lane of Highway 177 across Norfork Dam closed through Feb. 22 at 4 p.m. The temporary lane closure was scheduled to end Jan. 25, but due to unforeseen events and some severe weather, the closure must be extended to facilitate repairs to a damaged concrete parapet wall.
  • HIGHWAY 178 BRIDGE ACROSS BULL SHOALS DAM TO TEMPORARILY CLOSE

    MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. – The Corps of Engineers will close both lanes of Highway 178 across Bull Shoals Dam from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. Jan. 24, to remove an inoperative piece of equipment.

    LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Beginning today the Little Rock District, Corps of Engineers is reopening Corps-operated campgrounds, day-use areas, visitor centers and offices that are normally open this time of year.
  • LITTLE ROCK DISTRICT CLOSES CORPS-OPERATED CAMPGROUNDS AND DAY-USE PARKS DURING FEDERAL GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN

    LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The Little Rock District, Corps of Engineers has closed all Corps-operated campgrounds, day-use areas, visitor centers and offices as of 10 a.m. today, Jan. 22 as an effect of the federal government shutdown. Affected recreation areas will not reopen until after the shutdown is lifted.
