    HAVANA, Ark. – The Corps of Engineers, Nimrod-Blue Mountain Project Office has closed Waveland swim beach on Blue Mountain Lake until further notice. The temporary closure is the result of higher than acceptable E. coli levels that were found during routine testing conducted by the Arkansas Department of Health.

The temporary closure is the result of higher than acceptable E. coli levels that were found during routine testing conducted by the Arkansas Department of Health.
  • Corps issues small craft advisory for Arkansas River

    LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - The Army Corps of Engineers has issued a small craft advisory for the Arkansas River. Recent heavy rains caused flows to rise. During high flows, strong currents and large debris can threaten the safety of pleasure craft. Small craft advisories are issued when flows exceed 70,000 cubic feet per second.
  • CORPS ANNOUNCES OPEN HOUSES FOR SHORELINE MANAGEMENT PLAN REVISIONS

    MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. -- The Army Corps of Engineers, Little Rock District will hold three open houses Aug. 21-23 to release the final revised Bull Shoals Lake Shoreline Management Plan. All interested persons are invited.
  • ONE LANE OF HIGHWAY 177 BRIDGE ACROSS NORFORK DAM TO TEMPORARILY CLOSE

    MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. – The Corps of Engineers will temporarily close one lane of Highway 177 across Norfork Dam at 9 a.m. Aug. 20 through 4 p.m. Aug. 23, weather permitting, to repair a damaged roadway median crash barrier.

    MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. – The Army Corps of Engineers’ Mountain Home Project Office will be performing maintenance for the next two to three weeks at several boat launch ramps and parking areas on Bull Shoals Lake.
  • Dewey Short Visitor Center Announces August Programs

    BRANSON, Mo. -- Dewey Short Visitor Center is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. It is located just south of Table Rock Dam on State Highway 165. The visitor center offers interactive displays, a 22 minute movie about the purpose and construction of the dam, and viewing decks overlooking Table Rock Lake and Dam. Picnic facilities and a 2.2 mile asphalt surface trail are located on the visitor center grounds. Park rangers will be offering the following interpretive programs and events at Dewey Short Visitor Center during the month of August. All programs are free of charge and no registration is required.
  • CORPS TO RELEASE THROUGH CONDUIT IN BEAVER DAM

    ROGERS, Ark. – The Army Corps of Engineers, Beaver Lake Project Office is releasing about 5,170 cubic feet per second of water through a Beaver Dam conduit while hydropower generators are off-line. The release will last about an hour.
