    RAIN COULD PROMPT LARGE RELEASES FROM WHITE RIVER BASIN LAKES

    LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- The Army Corps of Engineers is advising people in flood plains downstream of Beaver, Table Rock, Bull Shoals and Norfork dams in northern Arkansas and southern Missouri to maintain awareness and monitor lake levels and weather. These lakes remain nearly full from spring rains, and more rain is forecast in the coming days.

    MKARNS Nav Notice SWL 19-35 Lock Reopened - Lock No. 2 (NM 13.3)

    MKARNS - Lock No. 2 (NM 13.3) has reopened to navigation traffic. The lock was closed due to high flows on the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System. The flows have now dropped to safe levels to operate the lock.

    MKARNS - Ozark-Jeta Taylor Lock (No. 12) NM 256.8 has reopened to navigation traffic. Tow haulage is not available until further notice.

    CORPS REOPENS SWIM BEACHES ON BEAVER LAKE

    ROGERS, Ark. – The Corps of Engineers, Beaver Lake Project Office has reopened swim beaches at Hickory Creek and Prairie Creek parks and the Rocky Branch camping area swim beach on Beaver Lake. The Horseshoe Bend Day Use Area no longer has a higher than acceptable level of E. coli but remains closed because of high water.

    CORPS CHANGES DATES TO TEMPORARILY CLOSE HIGHWAY 165 BRIDGE ACROSS TABLE ROCK DAM

    BRANSON, Mo. – The Army Corps of Engineers Little Rock District has rescheduled the road closure of both lanes of Highway 165 across Table Rock Dam for June 1 and 2. The closure has been rescheduled to begin at 8 p.m. June 11 until 6 a.m. June 12 and again from 8 p.m. June 12 until 6 a.m. on June 13 to install equipment needed to reinstall the dam’s refurbished head gates, barring weather delays.

    CORPS CLOSES SHOAL BAY AND PINEY BAY SWIM BEACHES ON LAKE DARDANELLE UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

    RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Corps of Engineers, Russellville Site Office has closed Shoal Bay and Piney Bay swim beaches on Lake Dardanelle until further notice. The temporary closure is the result of higher than acceptable E. coli levels that were found during routine testing conducted by the Arkansas Department of Health.
