    Corps releases interactive inundation map

    LITTLE ROCK, Ark. –The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Little Rock District is releasing an interactive inundation map for planning purposes that displays areas along the White River that may experience high water from this week’s forecasted rainfall.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will be conducting a spillway release from Norfork Dam at 1 p.m. today.

    Corps closes Prairie Creek and War Eagle swim beaches until further notice

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Beaver Project Office has closed the swimming areas at Prairie Creek and War Eagle parks located on Beaver Lake, until further notice. The temporary closure is the result of higher than acceptable E-Coli levels that were found during routine testing conducted by the Arkansas Department of Health. The Corps has posted signs indicating high bacteria levels at these locations. Swimming is not recommended in areas with high bacteria levels.
