LITTLE ROCK, Ark. ‑ The Army Corps of Engineers will be conducting a spillway release from Norfork Dam at 1 p.m. today.

The total spillway flow will be around 6,600 cubic feet per second. The total release from the dam, combined with one hydropower unit running around the clock, will be around 9,500 c.f.s.

Modest rains this weekend could exceed flood storage in many of the White River Lakes. Because of uncertainty in rainfall forecasts, releases will be made in response to the on-the-ground impacts to best minimize flood damages.

The Water Management staff has been and will continue to be engaged and proactive in responding to the conditions. More information can be found on the Internet at www.swl.usace.army.mil, on Facebook at www.facebook.com/littlerockusace and on Twitter at www.twitter.com/usacelittlerock.
