    CORPS CLOSES SPILLWAY GATES AT BEAVER DAM, CONTINUES RELEASES THOUGH GENERATOR

    ROGERS, Ark. – The Little Rock District of the Army Corps of Engineers will close the spillway gates at Beaver Dam at noon today but will continue releasing 3,800 cubic feet per second through the turbine generator. The current lake elevation is 1,129.3.

    CORPS TO INCREASE RELEASES FROM CLEARWATER DAM

    PIEDMONT, Mo. – The Army Corps of Engineers, Little Rock District expects releases from Clearwater Lake to gradually increase to about 7,000 cubic feet per second by Saturday afternoon. The pool is expected to crest at elevation 570.8 at that time.

    CORPS URGES BOATERS, ANGLERS TO BEWARE OF UNDERWATER HAZARDS

    LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- Boaters visiting Corps lakes are advised that when boating near shore, to beware of hidden underwater hazards because of the high water. They should go slowly and be extra cautious to avoid objects they would not normally expect in the water. Look for sign posts, picnic tables, table canopies and other structures often found in a campground or picnic areas.

    MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. – The Little Rock District of the Army Corps of Engineers will reopen the spillway gates at Norfork Dam at 10 a.m. today because of 1.8 inches of rain that fell last night in the drainage basin. The lake had room to store one-half inch of runoff.
