    Mariners are advised that Norrell Lock (No. 1) NM 10.3 will be closed to traffic beginning at 6:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on July 29th, 2026. The lock closure is required to facilitate concrete repair of the lock parapet wall.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is lifting the small craft advisory for the Arkansas River. Small craft advisories are issued when flows reach 70,000 cubic feet per second.
  • MKARNS Nav Notice 26-23 Lock 1 Intermittent Delays

    Mariners should expect to experience intermittent delays at Norrell Lock (No. 1) NM 10.3 July 13, 2026 – July 17, 2026, between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. The intermittent delays are required to facilitate work on the hydraulic system.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is reopening the swim beach at Quarry Park on Norfork Lake.
  • Russellville Marina docks temporarily closed as of July 8, 2026

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Little Rock District is temporarily closing the docks at Russellville Marina, effective July 8, 2026, due to safety hazards and unmet terms of the facility's Commercial Concessions Lease Agreement. The repair shop, store and cabins, will remain open.
  • Temporary full road closure for Highway 178 across Bull Shoals Dam on July 9 cancelled

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has cancelled the temporary full road closure scheduled July 9 for Highway 178 across Bull Shoals Dam. The closure scheduled for July 10 remains in effect.
  • USACE reopens swim beach at Dam Site Island

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is reopening the swim beach at Dam Site Island on Beaver Lake. The temporary closure was a result of higher than acceptable E. coli levels that were found during routine testing conducted by field office personnel. Two acceptable water samples are required by the Arkansas Department of Health prior to reopening a swim beach.
