MKARNS Nav Notice SWL 15-60 Lock 07 Limited Commercial Lockages During Scheduled Maintenance Closure

Murray L&D (No.7)- The maintenance closure of Murray Lock & Dam (No. 7) is in effect through September 04, 2015. While completing the pre-dewater dive inspection, corrosion of critical safety equipment was discovered that precludes dewatering the lock. The maintenance focus has now shifted to above-waterline critical inspections and repairs. During this closure a very limited number of commercial lockages can be accommodated when maintenance is not underway. Any such lockage requires 24-hour advance notice and coordination with the Lockmaster.

MKARNS - Due to shoaling, mariners are advised that until further notice, both upbound and downbound tows should favor the short wall or red/nun side of the channel from NM 49.6 to NM 49.7.

Ormond L&D - Tow haulage equipment at Arthur V. Ormond Lock (No. 9) NM 176.9 is out of service. Double cut tows will have to be locked the conventional way (without the use of tow haulage).
