MKARNS Nav Notice SWL 15-46 Safety Zone for Pops on the River Fireworks Display

MKARNS - To ensure the safety of life and property during the Pops on the River fireworks display in Little Rock, AR, a safety zone will be established by the Coast Guard for the Arkansas River from mile marker 118.8 to mile marker 119.5. The safety zone will be in effect from 9:20 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on 4 July, 2015.

MKARNS Nav Notice SWL 15-45 Restricted Zone Advisory (NM 289.0 to NM 293.0)

MKARNS (NM 289.0 - NM 293.0) - A Military Exercise “Restricted Zone” will close the Arkansas River (NM 289.0 to NM 293.0) to all traffic August 4, 2015 from 4:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The 841st Engineering Battalion will be conducting a bridge crossing exercise.

MKARNS Nav Notice SWL 15-44 Shoaling Advisory NM 178

MKARNS - Mariners are advised that a shoal has been reported in the vicinity of NM 178, approximately 1 to 2 miles upstream of Arthur V. Ormond Lock (No. 9). Mariners are advised to use extreme caution in this area, and to contact the Ormond Lock Operator via radio on Channel 16 or by phone (501) 354-8402 for the latest information.

MKARNS Nav Notice SWL 15-43 Date Revision Temporary Suspension of Recreational Lock Closures

MKARNS - The Big Bass Bonanza fishing tournament along the Arkansas section of the Arkansas River has been rescheduled. The dates for suspension of the recreational vessel lock closures for maintenance at Locks 03 - 13 will now be from July 13 through July 19, 2015.
