    MKARNS NAV NOTICE SWL 15-25 LOCK CLOSURE TOAD SUCK FERRY LOCK (No. 8) NM 155.9

    Toad Suck L&D - Due to high flows on the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System, the Toad Suck Ferry Lock (No. 8) NM 155.9 is closed to traffic. The lock will reopen as the flows drop to safe navigation levels.

    Arthur V. Ormond L&D - The Arthur V. Ormond Lock (No. 9) NM 176.9 has reopened to Navigation traffic. The lock was closed due to high flows on the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System. The flows have now dropped to safe levels to operate the lock.

    MKARNS NAV NOTICE SWL 15-19 Notice of Safety Zone

    MKARNS - To ensure the safety of life and property during the Riverfest fireworks display in Little Rock, AR, a safety zone will be established by the Coast Guard for the Arkansas River from mile marker 118.8 to mile marker 119.5. The safety zone will be in effect from 9:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on 24 May 2015.

    MKARNS NAV NOTICE SWL 15-17 LIFTING OF U.S. COAST GUARD SAFETY ZONE NM 119.5 TO 118.0

    MKARNS - Mariners are advised that the U.S. Coast Guard has lifted the safety zone on the Arkansas River between Navigation Miles 119.5 and 118.0. The sunken equipment has been located outside of the channel. A Broadcast Notice to Mariners has been issued to inform vessels of the equipment’s location. Vessels may contact the Coast Guard Sector Lower Mississippi River on VHF-FM Channel 16 for further information.
