CORPS CLOSES PARKING AREAS DURING OUTDOOR DAYS EVENT

BRANSON, Mo.  – Outdoor Days, at Table Rock Lake Sept. 12 and 13, is a great free opportunity to connect with nature, learn new outdoor skills and spend time with family and friends through a variety of hands-on activities and demonstrations.

In preparation for the event, the Corps of Engineers will close entrance gates and parking lots and only event shuttles will be allowed to the following areas from 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11 until Monday, Sept. 14:

1)      Dewey Short Visitor Center, Table Rock Project Office, and the Dewey Short trailhead for the Lakeshore Trail

2)      Observation peninsula

3)      Moonshine Beach

4)      Dam overlook, including access for Trailhead 2 on the blue loop of the White River Valley Trail System

Activities are scheduled from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12 and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Sunday, Sept. 13.

Free general public parking is available at the Celebration City parking lot off State Highway 376 in Branson with free shuttle buses to event venues.  

Participants can enjoy pontoon and boat rides, canoeing, kayaking, paddle boarding, fishing, hiking, archery, air soft rifle and sling shot ranges, atlatl throwing, bat and cave ecology, dog agility demonstrations, live animal exhibits, rock climbing, bounce houses and inflatable obstacle course, petting zoo and pony rides, bonfires, music and dancing, singing and storytelling, and more.

Outdoor Days is coordinated and sponsored by Bass Pro Shops.  Partners include America’s Wildlife Museum & Aquarium, Army Corps of Engineers, Missouri Department of Conservation, and Missouri State Parks.
