    Remember the drought? What a difference a year can make. I arrived at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Southwestern Division in Dallas about a year ago, and most of the region was in some stage of drought. News coverage highlighted striking images of thirsty lakes, shorelines receding with lakebeds cracked and dry, and low Corps reservoir levels. Communities chafed under lawn watering restrictions.

    ROGERS, Ark. - The Army Corps of Engineers announces the addition of three new life jacket loaner stations at parks on Beaver Lake. The new loaner stations are located at designated swimming areas in Horseshoe Bend campground, Rocky Branch, and Lost Bridge North parks.

    RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Corps of Engineers, Russellville Project Office has announced that Piney Bay swim beach on Lake Dardanelle has been cleared of higher than acceptable E. coli levels. Water samples from the swim beach have been retested and determined that it is safe for public use.

    MKARNS - To ensure the safety of life and property during the Pops on the River fireworks display in Little Rock, AR, a safety zone will be established by the Coast Guard for the Arkansas River from mile marker 118.8 to mile marker 119.5. The safety zone will be in effect from 9:20 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on 4 July, 2015.
