    LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is lifting the small craft advisory for the Arkansas River. Small craft advisories are issued when flows reach 70,000 cubic feet per second.

    Mariners are advised that Emmett Sanders (No. 4) NM 66.0 will be closed to traffic beginning at 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. on February 26, 2025. The lock closure is required to facilitate ongoing work on the hydraulic system.

  • MKARNS Nav Notice No. SWL 25-11 Lock 9 Tow Haulage Planned Outage

    The tow haulage equipment at Ormond Lock (No. 9) NM 176.9 will be taken out of service beginning February 15, 2025, to facilitate required work on the lock shelters. Double cut tows will have to be locked the conventional way (without the use of tow haulage). A follow up notice will be distributed when the tow haulage equipment is back in service.
  • USACE issues small craft advisory for Arkansas River

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is issuing a small craft advisory for the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System in Arkansas. Heavy rainfall in western Arkansas over the last 48 hours will result in Arkansas River flows exceeding 70,000 cubic feet per second over the next few days from Dardanelle Lock and Dam downstream to Wilbur D. Mills Lock and Dam.

    Mariners should expect to experience intermittent delays at Dardanelle Lock (No. 10) NM 205.5 on February 6, 2025 between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. daily. The intermittent delays are required to facilitate an underwater ROV inspection of the upstream river wall.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is seeking public input on the Lake Dardanelle Shoreline Management Plan. Public comment for the draft SMP will be held between February 4, 2025, and March 5, 2025.

  • USACE conducts boundary line maintenance on Lake Dardanelle and Ozark Lake

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Russellville Site Office is advising landowners adjacent to public lands around Lake Dardanelle and Ozark Lake that contract maintenance crews will be conducting boundary line maintenance along a 31-mile section of government boundary at Lake Dardanelle and a 17-mile section at Ozark Lake.
