These activities, scheduled to begin in January 2025 and continue through February 2025, are part of routine work under the Formerly Used Defense Site (FUDS) program.

  • MKARNS Nav Notice No. SWL 24-90 Lock 6 Closure

    David D. Terry Lock (No. 6) NM 108.1 will be closed to traffic beginning at 7 a.m. on February 3, 2025, until 7 p.m. on February 7, 2025. This is to allow workers to upgrade the lock interlock system which is an integral safety function of the Lock.
  • USACE issues small craft advisory for Arkansas River

    LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is issuing a small craft advisory for the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System in Arkansas. Heavy rainfall in Eastern Oklahoma and Western Arkansas over the last 24 hours is causing Arkansas River flows to exceed 70,000 cubic feet per second systemwide.

    The tow haulage equipment at Norrell Lock (No. 1) NM 10.3 has been repaired and returned to service.

  • MKARNS Nav Notice No. SWL 24-88 Norrell Lock tow haulage out of service

    The tow haulage equipment at Norrell Lock (No. 1) NM 10.3 is currently out of service due to an electrical issue. Double cut tows will have to be locked the conventional way (without the use of tow haulage). A follow up notice will be distributed when the tow haulage equipment is back in service.
  • Temporary full road closure of Highway 25 across Greers Ferry Dam

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is scheduling a full road closure for Highway 25 across Greers Ferry Dam from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Nov. 18-20, 2024, for routine maintenance.
  • MKARNS Nav Notice No. SWL 24- 87 MPLD NavPass Open

    Due to increased river elevations, the crest gate dam at Montgomery Point Lock and Dam (NM 0.5) is lowered and the navigation pass is open.   When the Montgomery Point Lock and Dam tailwater elevation drops below 115 ft., the navigation pass will be closed.
