Concord resident named Chief of Operations for USACE Little Rock District

Concord, Arkansas resident Chris Roark was recently named the chief of operations for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Little Rock District. Roark replaces Kevin McDaniels who transferred to USACE’s Detroit District.

USACE lifts small craft advisory for Arkansas River

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Little Rock District lifts the small craft advisory for the Arkansas River. Small craft advisories are issued when flows reach 70,000 cubic feet per second. While flows have receded, USACE officials urge boaters to always use caution when on the river.

Invasive aquatic plant discovered in Millwood Lake

The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers are alerting Millwood Lake visitors that an invasive aquatic plant known as Giant Salvinia was discovered in the lake on Dec. 8, 2020.

USACE plans prescribed burns around Bull Shoals and Norfork lakes

Personnel from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mountain Home Project Office and the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission will conduct prescribed burns on public land surrounding Bull Shoals and Norfork lakes until the second week of April.
