Greers Ferry is widely known as a record-producing fishery. The lake is currently home of the world record walleye (22lb. 11oz.) and state record hybrid-striped bass (27lb. 5 oz.). The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission has stocked almost every game fish native to the state in the lake. The lake supports healthy populations of black bass, bream, crappie, catfish, walleye, white bass and hybrid-striped bass.
Courtesy docks at designated launching ramps around the lake have been provided by various organizations for the benefit of all boaters.
Whether you fish every day, once a month or once a year, Greers Ferry provides angling excitement all year long.
The Little Red River, downstream of Greers Ferry Dam, is known world-wide as a premier trout fishery. The river is home to several trout species including brown, brook, cutthroat and rainbow. A world record brown trout (1992 – 2009) was taken from the river in 1992. The monster weighed in at 40 lb. 4 oz.
Trout fishing on the Little Red River makes for exciting memories every day of the year.
