Hunting

Wildlife management at Greers Ferry Lake is a coordinated effort between the Corps of Engineers and Arkansas Game and Fish Commission. Approximately 9,000 acres of land lying above the conservation pool is leased to the Commission for wildlife management purposes. This area is known as the Greers Ferry Lake Wildlife Management Area.

Hunting for white-tailed deer, eastern wild turkey, rabbit and squirrel are good to excellent. Deer hunting is restricted to archery tackle only. No rifles (including muzzleloading rifles) or handguns may be used to harvest any game species. Hunting is prohibited in developed parks and Sugar Loaf Mountain. Licenses for hunting and fishing are required in accordance to state and federal law. Sportsmen should consult and follow state regulations. Maps and other information with regard to hunting are available by contacting the Project Office or you can print them from the links above.
