Campgrounds

Camping opportunities abound at Clearwater Lake. With over 390 campsites, ranging from rustic to full electric and water hook-up, you are sure to find one that is perfect for your camping experience.

We have many areas that are ideal for primitive camping. You must obtain a permit prior to any primitive camping at Clearwater Lake. This permit may be used to locate your camp group in the event of an emergency. Remember to carry out all rubbish that you bring onto the project. Permits are FREE. To obtain a permit contact the Project Office at (573) 223-7777, or print one from this website.

Campsites can be reserved through the National Recreation Reservation Service on-line at Recreation.gov or call 877-444-6777.

Description: Bluff View campground is nestled into the hills on the East side of Clearwater Lake. The Black River runs into the lake near this campground. For park information call the gatehouse at 1-573-223-4459.

Location: Take HWY 34 to Piedmont MO. Turn north on HWY 49, go 1 mile to HWY AA and turn left, go 7 miles on HWY AA, the road will end in Bluff View Park. (911 Address: 93 Highway AA Piedmont, MO 63957)

Facilities: The lake is fed by the Black River at this point, which provides visitors an excellent location to fish. Bluff View is also an excellent area to camp, swim, boat, picnic or sightsee. The Bluff View Campground offers 60 sites, including many with electric and water hook-ups. Additional amenities include a dump station, hot showers, a boat ramp, a playground, interpretive trail, public phones, and a swimming area.

Description: Campground is set on ridge tops just above the lake level. Many sites offer an excellent view of the lake. For park information call the gatehouse at 1-573-223-4432.

Location: Follow US 34 to Piedmont, MO. Go North on Highway HH 5 miles to the top of the dam. Turn right and follow the signs into the campground. (911 Address: 821 County Road 418 Piedmont, MO 63957).

Facilities: Piedmont Park Campground provides visitors an excellent location to camp, fish, swim, boat, picnic, or sightsee. Piedmont Park Campground offers 97 sites, including many with electric and water hookups. Additional amenities include a dump station, hot showers, picnic shelters, a boat ramp, a playground, public phones, and a swimming area.

Description: River Road Park is set along the riverbanks of the Black river, just below Clearwater Dam. The terrain is very flat and offers easy access to the river for fishing. For park information call the gatehouse at 1-573-223-4424.

Location: Follow US 34 to Piedmont, MO. Go North on Highway HH 5 miles until you reach River Road Campground.

Facilities: River Road Campground provides visitors an excellent location to camp, fish, swim, boat, picnic, or sightsee. River Road Campground offers 109 sites, including many with electric and water hookups. Additional amenities include a dump station, hot showers, picnic shelters, a boat ramp, a playground, hiking trails, fish cleaning station, and public phones.

Open: River Road is open year-round. Services provided March 15 thru October 30.

Highway K 

Description: Highway K Campground is located on Black River west of Annapolis, MO. The river provides excellent opportunities to camp, swim, canoe, picnic, and sightsee. For park information call the gatehouse at 1-573-558-2202.

Location: Located 5 miles southwest of Annapolis, MO. Follow Hwy 49 south to the center of Annapolis, turn right onto Hwy K, and follow Hwy K 5 miles. Highway K Park will be on your left. (911 Address: 5347 County Road 452 Annapolis, MO).

Facilities: The Highway K Campground offers 83 sites, including many with electric and some sites with water hookups. Additional amenities include a dump station, hot showers, a picnic shelter, playground, and public phone.

Open: K East Park: May 15 - October 31  
            K West Park: March 15 - October 31

Description: Webb Creek Campground is located on the banks of Clearwater Lake, southeast of Ellington, MO. Most of the campsites are located on a wooded hillside just above the lake.  Webb Creek Campground is now in the reservation system online at recreation.gov.  For park information call the gatehouse at 1-573-461-2282.

Location: From Ellington, MO, go south on US 21 for 2.6 miles to Highway H. Turn left on Highway H and go 10 miles to Webb Creek Campground. (911 Address: 10273 Hwy H Ellington, MO.)

Facilities: Webb Creek Campground offers 31 sites, including many sites with electric hook-ups, and water nearby. Additional amenities include hot showers, a playground, boat ramp, swimming area, hiking trail, picnic shelter, public phones, and a dump station. There are no water hook-ups.
