    LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Little Rock District recently named White Hall, Arkansas native Laura Hiserodt, as the 2023 Administrative Professional of the Year.
  • USACE to temporarily close David D. Terry Park

    LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will be closing David D. Terry Park beginning at 5 p.m. on Aug. 23 until 5 p.m. on Aug. 24 for a special event.
  • Temporary lane closure of Highway 25 across Greers Ferry Dam

    HEBER SPRINGS, Ark. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will be closing one lane of the Highway 25 bridge across Greers Ferry Dam from 6:30 a.m. on Aug. 21 until 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 28, 2023, for routine maintenance.
  • USACE closes swim beach at Dam Site Lake Day Use Area until further notice

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Beaver Lake Project Office has closed the swim beach at Dam Site Lake Day Use Area on Beaver Lake until further notice. The temporary closure is the result of higher than acceptable E. coli levels that were found during routine testing conducted by project office personnel.

  • Temporary full road closure of Highway 178 across Bull Shoals Dam

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is scheduling a full road closure for Highway 178 across Bull Shoals Dam from 6:30 a.m. Aug. 14 until 5 p.m. Aug. 16, 2023, to deploy and remove equipment used to perform maintenance on the dam.

    Due to increased river elevations, the crest gate dam at Montgomery Point Lock and Dam (NM 0.5) is lowered and the navigation pass is open. When the Montgomery Point Lock and Dam tailwater elevation drops below 115 ft., the navigation pass will be closed.

    Mariners are advised that the navigation channel may experience intermittent closures under the I-30 Bridge, NM 118.5. The channel in this area could experience intermittent closures for a duration of up to 30 minutes at a time between 6 a.m. and 5 p.m on August 28 – 31 and again on September 20 – 23. The intermittent channel closures are due to steel erection operations for the new bridge. Mariners may contact the onsite workboat M/V Bill O’Donley on VHF Channel 16 or 68 for updates.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Greers Ferry Lake & Little Red River Tourism Association are seeking volunteers to pitch in on Sept. 9 during the 54th Annual Greers Ferry Lake and Little Red River Cleanup.
  • One lane of Highway 177 across Norfork Dam to temporarily close

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will be closing one lane of Highway 177 across Norfork Dam from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Aug. 9 for a routine bridge inspection.
