Corps issues small craft advisory for Arkansas River

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - The Army Corps of Engineers has issued a small craft advisory for the Arkansas River. Recent heavy rains caused flows to rise. During high flows, strong currents and large debris can threaten the safety of pleasure craft. Small craft advisories are issued when flows exceed 70,000 cubic feet per second. [Read More]

Sheppard’s Island Park to Close for Debris Removal

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The Army Corps of Engineers will temporarily close Sheppard Island Park, adjacent to Emmett Sanders Lock & Dam near Pine Bluff, Ark., for up to six weeks beginning May 9 to allow contractors to remove about 30,000 cubic yards of sand and debris deposited in the park during the 2015 and 2016 floods.
