ROGERS, Ark. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Beaver Lake Project Office will begin prohibiting alcohol at Dam Site North Park in Carroll County, beginning May 13, 2024. USACE cites visitor safety and excessive littering as the main reasons for restricting alcohol in the park.

According to Chief Ranger Landon Thurman, “USACE has received several reports from concerned visitors and business owners about excessive littering, vandalism, and public indecency from inebriated individuals.”

Those found with alcohol will be asked to pour it out or leave the park. Failure to cooperate, may result in a citation requiring recipients to appear before a federal magistrate.

“Our goal is for visitors to enjoy a safe-clean park,” said Thurman.
