Nimrod Lake

Hunting

Mobility impaired hunter.

Many different species of wildlife can be found on Nimrod Lake for hunting or trapping. Some of the different species include white-tailed deer, eastern wild turkey, bobwhite quail, squirrel, rabbit, fox, mink, black bear, dove, and waterfowl. Seasonal hunting is permitted throughout the lake except in or near recreation areas. Check with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission on specific hunting or trapping regulations.

Nimrod Lake has designated a mobility impaired hunting area. This area is opened only for hunters who possess a mobility impaired hunting card obtained through the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission. Located in this area are four ground blinds, which are wheel chair accessible. Wildlife plantings are strategically placed at various locations to attract wildlife to the area. For more information about this area contact the Nimrod-Blue Mountain Project Office at 479-272-4324.
