Blue Mountain Lake is an excellent fishery, with crappie being the favorite catch of the day.  Fishermen also enjoy catching flathead and channel catfish, bream, and bass in the lake and river.  The lake offers about 2900 acres of water at conservation pool (normal lake level).  The Arkansas Game & Fish Commission performs stocking and other fish management practices on the lake.  Fishing is normally best in the spring and fall.  Fish cleaning stations are available for use at Waveland and Outlet Parks.
