  • Single lane closure scheduled for Highway 177 across Norfork Dam

    – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is scheduling a single lane closure of Highway 177 across Norfork Dam starting at 6 a.m. March 26, 2025, and continuing through late July 2025, for routine maintenance.
  • MKARNS Annual Navigation Notice No. 1-2025

    As a result of partnering efforts with navigation stakeholders, the attached consolidated Notice to Navigation Interests has been prepared for the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System (MKARNS). The intent is to provide consistency by reviewing and informing current district regulations with a joint notice that will be updated annually. The notice is applicable to the Little Rock (SWL) and Tulsa (SWT) Districts.
  • MKARNS Nav Notice No. SWL 25-13 Lock 3 Intermittent Delays 

    Mariners should expect to experience intermittent delays at Joe Hardin Lock (No. 3) NM 50.2 on February 27, 2025, between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. The intermittent delays are required to facilitate work on the hydraulic system.
  • USACE waives day use fees at recreation areas in observance of Veterans Day

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announced that it will waive day use fees at recreation areas nationwide in observance of Veterans Day on Nov. 11, 2024.
  • USACE issues small craft advisory for Arkansas River

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is issuing a small craft advisory for the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System in Arkansas. Heavy rainfall in Eastern Oklahoma and Western Arkansas over the last 48 hours is causing Arkansas River flows to exceed 70,000 cubic feet per second systemwide.
  • USACE cautions lake users on low water conditions at Greers Ferry Lake

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is cautioning boaters about low water conditions at Greers Ferry Lake. With inflows being low, the lake level is currently around an elevation of 456 feet. Although low, this is within the normal operation of the reservoir.
  • USACE reminds everyone to be water safe this Independence Day

    As the nation prepares to celebrate Independence Day with festivities, family gatherings and outdoor activities, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Little Rock District, is urging everyone to prioritize water safety while enjoying the region’s lakes and rivers.
  • USACE waives day use fees at recreation areas in observance of the USACE birthday and Juneteenth

    Engineers announced that it will waive day use fees at recreation areas nationwide in observance of the USACE birthday on June 16 and Juneteenth National Independence Day on June 19. Normal day use fees will be charged on June 17 and 18.
  • USACE to begin scheduled drawdown at Nimrod Lake

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will begin lowering Nimrod Lake on May 15, 2024, to improve aquatic vegetation, as well as make repairs to the channel markers, boat launch ramps and swim beaches.
  • USACE to conduct boundary line maintenance on Bull Shoals and Norfork Lakes

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is advising landowners adjacent to public lands around Bull Shoals and Norfork Lakes that contract maintenance crews will be conducting boundary line maintenance along a 115-mile section of government boundary at Bull Shoals Lake and a 60-mile section at Norfork Lake.
