MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark.-The Army Corps of Engineers, Little Rock District will be inspecting and testing recently completed construction work from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. Dec. 13 in the Bull Shoals power switchyard.  For safety reasons, the dam cannot produce hydroelectric power during this inspection.

Anglers may see different water conditions on the White River below Bull Shoals Dam during the inspection.  The minimum flow cannot be released by the traditional method using one hydropower unit producing a small amount of power.

An alternative method to pass a minimum flow was successfully tested using two units to pass flow without producing power.  The amount of water passed through the two units will vary slightly from the normal minimum flow levels.

If the onsite staff determines that any release creates unsafe conditions for the workers there will be no minimum flow for some period of the day. Normal operations will resume after the inspection is complete.
