MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. – One lane of Highway 177 across Norfork Lake will be closed at 6:30 a.m. each Monday and remain closed until 6 p.m. each Thursday except federal holidays beginning Monday, June 24 for about 180 days to conduct maintenance on the dam’s tainter gates. Both lanes will be open Friday thru Sunday.
Officials at the Army Corps of Engineers Mountain Home Project Office regret any inconvenience this may cause and ask for public cooperation during the closure. If you are traveling in this area, please expect delays, obey traffic lights, and drive cautiously around equipment and work crews.
The closure is being coordinated with emergency services and law enforcement agencies.
