MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Little Rock District will start a major roadwork, paving, and park enhancement project on May 12, 2025, at Cranfield Park recreation area on Norfork Lake.
Cranfield Park will be closed to all traffic, including camping, day use, and boat launching, because of heavy equipment operations and the scope of work involved. Traffic to and from Cranfield Marina will remain open. While camping reservations have already been canceled because of high water levels, the park is expected to remain closed to ensure crews can safely complete their work. Due to high water conditions and weather, there is no estimated completion date for this work. As soon as work progresses, updates will be posted to social media.
These improvements are part of ongoing planned upgrades, including enhancements to boat ramps, additional parking in both normal and high-water areas, and improved park entry and exit points.
USACE officials regret the inconvenience but emphasize that the work will enhance safety and improve the visitor experience.
