NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is scheduling temporary lane and parking area closures for Cooks Landing. Road construction on the entrance to Cooks Landing is currently underway. Lane closures and parking area closures will begin Oct. 17. Traffic will be controlled by cones and signage. Drivers should exercise caution when approaching and traveling through construction zones.

Construction will include a low water crossing, subbase repair, shoulder repair, overlay and striping as part of the Federal Lands Transportation Program. As work progresses on the low water crossing, a temporary road will be constructed to route traffic around the construction area. Access to the low water crossing will be restricted until construction is complete.

As an alternative, park visitors looking to hike, walk, or enjoy the beautiful fall weather can visit the day use area at Murray Park which is located just across the river from Cook’s Landing.
