Natural Resources

USACE periodically conducts prescribed burns that eliminate dry fuel materials while stimulating new plant growth.

Natural Resources

Wise management of natural resources on and around Bull Shoals Lake is necessary and important to maintain the quality environment we enjoy. The public lands that surround the lake provide a buffer zone that ensures high water quality while providing habitat for wildlife.  Our goal for managing this land is to restore it to natural conditions and to enhance native plant and animal populations. Comprehensive natural resource plans are continually updated, guiding our efforts toward accomplishing these goals. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, Missouri Department of Conservation, and volunteer groups play important roles in the cooperative management of Bull Shoals Lake.
