    MKARNS - This is to advise mariners transiting the White River Entrance Channel (WREC) of increased head differentials between Norrell Lock and Dam and Montgomery Point Lock and Dam.

    MKARNS - Due to shoaling, mariners are advised that until further notice, both upbound and downbound tows should favor the long wall in the downstream approach to David D. Terry Lock (No. 6) and Murray Lock (No. 7).

  • MKARNS Nav Notice SWL 16-11 Lock 8 Tow Haulage Out of Service

    Toad Suck Ferry L&D - Tow haulage equipment at Toad Suck Ferry Lock (No. 8) NM 155.9 is out of service. Double cut tows will have to be locked the conventional way (without the use of tow haulage). The length of downtime is currently unknown.
  • MKARNS Nav Notice SWL 16-10 Revised Sailing Instructions NM 222.0 to NM 223.2

    MKARNS - Revised Sailing Instructions - Due to shoaling, mariners are advised that until further notice, both upbound and downbound tows should run the green line between NM 222.0 and NM 223.2. No passing is advised while transiting through this reach. Note that the endpoints of this reach have adjusted slightly from those in the original Navigation Notice SWL 16-09.
  • MKARNS Nav Notice SWL 16-09 Sailing Instructions NM 221.9 to NM 223.0

    MKARNS - Due to shoaling, mariners are advised that until further notice, both upbound and downbound tows should use extreme caution between NM 221.9 and NM 223.0. No passing is advised while transiting through this reach.
  • MKARNS Nav Notice SWL 16-08 Lock 8 - Lock Reopened

    MKRNS - Toad Suck Ferry Lock (No. 8) NM 155.9 has reopened to Navigation traffic. The lock was closed due to high flows on the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System. The flows have now dropped to safe levels to operate the lock.
  • MKARNS Nav Notice SWL 16-07 Lock 2 - Reopened

    MKARNS - Lock No. 2 (NM 13.3) has reopened to Navigation traffic. The lock was closed due to a projected backflow of the Arkansas Post Canal caused by the rising water elevation of the Mississippi River. The water elevations have now dropped to safe levels
  • MKARNS Nav Notice SWL 16-04 Lock 3 - Reopened

    MKARNS - Joe Hardin Lock (No. 3) NM 50.2 has reopened to Navigation traffic. The lock was closed due to high flows on the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System. The flows have now dropped to safe levels to operate the lock.

    MKARNS - Colonel Charles D. Maynard Lock (No. 5) and David D. Terry Lock and Dam (No. 6) have reopened to Navigation traffic.
