LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The Army Corps of Engineers is seeking public comments through Nov. 22 on environmental documents relating to stream bank protection work on the Stillhouse Branch tributary of the White River in Batesville, Ark.
The Little Rock District is conducting this project under the authority of Section 14 of the Flood Control Act of 1946 as amended. This authority provides for the construction or repair of stream bank and shoreline protection work to prevent flood or erosion damage to endangered public and private non-profit hospitals and schools, and other non-profit public facilities.
The documents for review are a Draft Feasibility Report including the Draft Environmental Assessment and a Draft Finding of No Significant Impact.
The proposed work would cause no significant adverse effects to the human environment, and an Environmental Impact Statement will not be required.
Copies of the reports are available for review between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at City Hall, Batesville Municipal Building, 500 East Main Street, Batesville, Ark. or at the Little Rock District Office in Room 7403 of the Federal Building at 700 W. Capitol Ave. in Little Rock.
