ROGERS, Ark. – The Army Corps of Engineers, Beaver Project Office advise Prairie Creek Park visitors that traffic in and out of the park will be restricted to registered campers and marina patrons from 5:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept 25 while a triathlon is competing in the area.
Day use visitors are encouraged to use other nearby Corps parks such as Rocky Branch or Horseshoe Bend. Boater are encouraged to use the Highway 12 bridge launch ramp which is about two miles east of Prairie Creek Park along Highway 12.
The triathlon will utilize the Prairie Creek day use area, campground loop roads, and the main road from the day use area to the park entrance.
The triathlon will start at the Prairie Creek boat ramp area and proceed with activities both inside and outside the park. The race consists of a swim in Beaver Lake, then exiting the park on bikes and then re-entering the park to complete a nine mile run within the park.
Prairie Creek Marina will shuttle marina patrons from parking near the park entrance to the marina and return.
