ROGERS, Ark. – The Army Corps of Engineers, Little Rock District continues making hydropower generation releases at Beaver Lake in order to evacuate flood waters.

The 7,500 cubic feet per second turbine releases will continue until the lake reaches elevation 1,121.43.

With the lake currently dropping about one-half foot a day, dock owners need to be vigilant to ensure their docks are properly anchored, maintained and floating. Boaters are advised to slow down and be caution of changing lake levels and underwater hazards.

Once the lake reaches elevation 1,121.43, releases will be reduced and water levels will continue to drop by about one-fourth of a foot a day until it reaches the top of its conservation pool.  The lake is forecasted to drop to 1,120.43, top of conservation pool, by March 5, unless there is additional rainfall.

Lake elevation forecasts can be found at the Little Rock District water management website: http://www.swl-wc.usace.army.mil/pages/reports/remote/lakfcst.htm.

Daily lake information can be obtained at www.swl-wc.usace.army.mil or the Corps’ mobile App which can be found in mobile App stores by searching for USACE Little Rock.
